Summary of Duties
The Youth and Young Adults Pastor will use their gifts to further God’s work in the shepherding and development of Bethany Chapel’s Youth and Young Adults Ministries. This work will be done under the Executive Pastor’s authority with the assistance of qualified volunteer leaders and possibly one staff assistant or intern.

Committed to a training and equipping philosophy of leadership within Bethany Chapel
Understand and commit to joining the plurality of leadership within Bethany Chapel
Skilled in selecting and training volunteers
Strong relational capabilities with youth and young adults
Appropriate educational and “hands-on” experiential base
Demonstrates the character qualities of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:2-7, Acts 20:28-31, and Titus 1:6-9
Accepts Bethany Chapel’s Statement of Faith without reservation
Positional Expectations
Youth Ministry – 60%
Within Bethany Chapel’s vision, give coordinated overall direction to the youth ministries
Implement this direction through a balanced multi-faceted ministry including evangelism, discipleship, teaching, prayer, worship, and other components
Encourage the Junior and Senior High students to use their God given gifts within our church family
Provide leadership and/or support to broader youth ministry endeavors (i.e. city wide events, national conventions, school seminars, other)
Oversee the development of volunteer leadership teams for each area of youth ministry including recruiting and equipping leaders
Provide leadership for any Mission Teams for our youth
Establishing and stewarding of the Youth and Young Adults ministry budgets
Young Adults Ministry – 35%
Serve as the Pastor to Young Adults [approximate age 18-28] within Bethany and its surrounding communities
Regularly evaluate and improve all aspects of Bethany Chapel’s Young Adults Ministry under the guidance and direction of the Executive Pastor
Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with individuals through visits and regularly scheduled meetings, email and other forms of communication
Encourage self-development and self-leadership within this group
Provide leadership for any Mission Teams for Young Adults
Church Wide Ministry – 5%
Adhere to the pastoral staff role at Bethany Chapel as outlined in its Policies and Procedures Manual
Perform marriages, pre-marital counseling and funerals as requested
Maintain and provide mentoring relationships with individuals at Bethany Chapel
Maintain intentional growth in biblical/theological knowledge and ministry practice
Maintain growth in areas of perceived or evaluated weakness
Network with other youth pastors, parents and lay leaders to mutually encourage and challenge personal health and growth
