Youth Ministry Associate Director Part Time

Summary: The Youth Ministry Associate Director at Bethany Community Church’s North location partners with the Co-lead Pastor of Family Ministry to invite students in grades 6-12 to a living relationship with Christ. The specific focus of the Youth Ministry Associate Director will be leading Middle School Sunday School on Sunday mornings and supporting Youth Group on Sunday nights.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-time (21 hrs. a week)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership to Sunday morning Middle School Sunday School  Steward a shared vision of the Sunday School to fulfill its mission of i.) creating a space for students to connect and build fellowship and ii.) helping students build a strong foundation of knowledge around Scripture and the Christian tradition that will set them up for success in their walk with God. Organize and consolidate curriculum into a weekly game plan to send out to the teaching team. Lead the volunteer teaching team by scheduling existing volunteers, communicating with the team, and recruiting new volunteers as needed. Provide and ensure a caring, fun, and safe environment for students on Sunday mornings.
• Support the ongoing ministry of our Youth Groups (Summit & Reach) Collaborate with Pastor of Youth and Family to plan and organize various aspects of middle school youth group including: games, worship, teaching, and small group content. Relationally invest in students by mentoring, encouraging, and walking alongside them in their faith journey, helping them grow as lifelong followers of Jesus. Communicate and help the Pastor of Youth and Family in developing a positive and engaged missional leader community. Recruit and develop new leaders as needed so as to improve and sustain the ministry experience for students. Provide and ensure a caring, fun, and safe environment for students on Sunday evenings.
• Coordinate Youth Ministry Communication and Administrative Needs Collaborate with the Family Ministry team to develop care and follow-up processes for regular attendees, new visitors, and inactive families. Coordinate communications and calendar for Children’s and Family Ministries events, ensuring timely communication for these events, including creating  registrations, and promoting events through social media channels, the church website, and newsletters. Provide logistical and administrative support for ministry events, meetings, and classes. Develop and implement social media strategy for North Family Ministry Team.
• Support seasonal events and special projects in collaboration with Family Ministry Team Provide support and coordination for retreats and camps as agreed upon with supervisor.
• Participate as a member of the Bethany North and Bethany Community Church Staff, and perform other duties as the situation arises/assigned by supervisor.

• Pursuit or completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Possesses excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Possesses a high attention to detail and can work in an organized and efficient manner
• Proficient with Social Media platforms and Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS Work Schedule: Typical schedule will be Sunday, Monday, and one other day that is either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Sunday morning and Sunday evening required, 21 hours/week Physical Demands: Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation. Must be able to move between buildings on campus. Must be able to lift small boxes and/or equipment up to 40lbs. Working Conditions:   Due to seasonal activity, job duties may often require additional hours and availability outside normal working hours. May require flexibility to adjust work schedule from time to time to work early or later than regular schedule. Non-smoking building and environment. Compensation: $28/hour Benefits: Part-time employees regularly scheduled to work at least 21 hours per work week are eligible for holiday pay, paid vacation, sick time, as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
