Background: The Christian Medical & Dental Associations (CMDA) has been entrusted with the unparalleled opportunity to influence the healthcare marketplace for the cause of Christ. We believe God has positioned CMDA to respond to our culture by seeking to develop physicians, dentists and healthcare professionals who are committed to living out their faith in Christ through the crucible of patient care, bioethics, and technology. CMDA began as a student movement in 1931 on the campus of Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. As an international movement of Christian healthcare students and professionals, CMDA now has over 20,000 members whose desire is to glorify Christ in the professional arenas of medicine and dentistry. Our purpose is to help doctors practice their faith in Jesus Christ, both personally and professionally and to make an impact for the gospel and the Kingdom through medicine. This is not only our heritage, but it is our mandate for the future.
