Are you looking for a life changing experience? Are you willing to have your limits stretched? Do you want to instill change in others? Can you love unconditionally? Do you love God? Are you called to ministry?
If you answered yes to all of the above read on:
Cyrus Centre is looking for a married couple with either no children or grown children who can commit themselves to being full time house parents. This would suit a couple where one member has outside employment or a retired couple. The Home is in Abbotsford on a bus route in a convenient location.
House parents will provide a home environment for youth living in semi independence, providing skills modeled in day-to-day living, skills necessary to live independently; living in community, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, recreation, problem solving, respect of others, laundry and so on, basic day-to-day life skills.
The successful couple will be provided with living accommodations, utilities, food budget, financial stipend, benefits, support and more.
To apply, please pray about it first and ask questions of your friends and family; do they see you in this type of ministry? Submit two resumes (one each), a letter each, detailing each of the first six questions you answered “yes” to, what experience you have with youth, how long you have been married and any other details you think we should know. In addition, we will require personal references for each, a character reference letter for you as a couple, and pastoral reference for you as a couple. Once you have everything, and you prayed about it some more, please submit it all into an envelope and either mail or drop off to Cyrus Centre 2616 Ware St. Abbotsford BC V2S 3E5. Attention Les Talvio or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
The selected couple will be required to each complete a criminal record check as well as a Ministry of Children & Families (MCFD) back ground check.
