Children & Family Ministries Pastor Part Time

WHO WE ARE

Emmanuel Christian Community (ECC) is a Christ-centered, relational church in the heart of Steveston. We are committed to helping people encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and live out His mission of love and service.

We are looking for a part time Children & Family Ministries Pastor with a heart for nurturing spiritually thriving children and fostering connections across generations within our church community. This is a 20 to 25 hour a week role. In this role, you’ll create and lead engaging Christian teachings based on ECC core beliefs, plan impactful events for children, families, and work collaboratively with volunteers to foster a welcoming environment. This position is perfect for someone with strong interpersonal skills who is excited to make a difference in our children’s spiritual lives and support family connections.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

• Cultivate Faith in Kids: Lead engaging, Bible-based programs for children (nursery through pre-teen) during Sunday services and special events, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and valued.
• Equip Families: Partner with parents and caregivers, providing tools and encouragement to foster spiritual growth at home.
• Empower Volunteers: Build and support a team of dedicated volunteers through recruitment, training, and mentorship.
• Connect with the Community: Organize 2 – 3 outreach events (e.g., VBS, Christmas programs, Easter Egg Hunts) that bring families together and share Christ’s love in Steveston and beyond.
• Collaborate Across Ministries: Work closely with ECC’s Youth Pastor and other leaders to create a seamless discipleship journey for children as they grow.
• Prioritize Safety: Oversee volunteer screening and training to maintain compliance with provincial child safety standards.
• Lead Seasonal Programs: Plan and implement activities that celebrate the church calendar and highlight key moments in the Christian faith.

• A creative thinker who loves designing dynamic, fun, and meaningful programs.
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experienced in children’s ministry or a related field (volunteer or professional experience considered).
• A collaborative team player eager to contribute to ECC’s broader vision.
