Director of Technology and Production Part Time NEW

Position Type: Part-Time (15 hours per week)

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Position Summary The Director of Technology & Production provides leadership and hands-on support for the technical production of Sunday worship services and other key ministry events at Faith Church. Working in partnership with the Lead Pastor and ministry staff, this role helps ensure that audio, lighting, projection, livestreaming, and related technology support the church’s worship and ministry effectively. An important part of this position is recruiting, training, and equipping volunteers to use their gifts and abilities in service to Jesus Christ. The goal is to cultivate a reliable, welcoming, and growing production team that serves the church and its community with excellence, humility, and care.  

Key Responsibilities

1. Sunday Service Production

• Oversee and support the technical production of Sunday worship service, including audio, lighting, projection, and livestreaming, as applicable.
• Prepare and coordinate weekly service production needs in collaboration with the Worship Pastor and worship team.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain the effective operation of existing production equipment and systems.
• Help ensure that presentation slides, media, and other technical elements are prepared and ready for services.

2. Volunteer Recruitment and Development

• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve in production and technology roles.
• Develop simple processes and training resources that help volunteers serve confidently and consistently.
• Work with the Lead Pastor to establish schedules, clarify responsibilities, and ensure adequate volunteer coverage.
• Foster a supportive team culture that encourages spiritual growth, teamwork, and the development of individual gifts.

3. Technology and Equipment Support

• Provide basic technical support for ministry staff and church technology, including computers, presentation systems, and related equipment.
• Monitor the condition of production equipment and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Identify equipment or system needs and make recommendations to the Lead Pastor before significant purchases or upgrades.
• Help maintain organized systems for equipment, media files, and production resources.

4. Media and Special Events

• Assist with selected media projects, such as baptism testimonies, sermon series videos, photography, and other church communications, as time and skills permit.
• Provide technical support for weddings, funerals, and other scheduled church events as agreed upon in advance.
• Collaborate with ministry staff and volunteers to support special services and church-wide events.

Education and Experience

• Experience with live production, audio, lighting, projection, or livestreaming; church experience is an asset.
• Experience training or coordinating volunteers is preferred.
• Basic IT troubleshooting skills are an asset.
• Relevant education, training, or certification in production, media, or information technology is an asset.
• A willingness to learn, adapt, and develop new skills.

Work Schedule This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week. Sunday mornings are a primaryfocus of the role, and some additional evening or weekend hours will be required for scheduledministry events. The weekly schedule and priorities will be established in consultation with the Lead Pastor. Additional responsibilities or events that would significantly exceed the agreed-upon hours should be discussed in advance.

Compensation Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and the agreed-upon weekly hours.
