Lead Pastor Full Time

The Lead Pastor is God’s leader for the people of the Harrowsmith Free Methodist Church. This means that the Lead Pastor is both the spiritual leader and an administrator for the body. As spiritual leader, this position is accountable to the Official Board of the church and is responsible for overseeing all preaching and teaching ministries and for overseeing evangelism strategies, part of which includes being active as a leader in the Community. The Lead Pastor must be instrumental in developing and then supporting the coordination efforts of the vision and mission of the church. On a day-to-day basis, the Lead Pastor provides direct supervision of all paid and volunteer staff positions including: the Commissioned Ministers, Youth Director, Worship Director, the Office Administrator and the Ministry Leadership Team (M.L.T.).

The rural village of Harrowsmith is located just minutes away from Kingston, Ontario (16km north of Hwy 401, close to County Road 38). The businesses in the village include: a pizzeria, restaurant, gas station, pharmacy, butcher shop/deli, auto repair and some other small businesses. The same is true of Verona (8 km north). A 5 min. drive to the east takes you to the village of Sydenham, which has a number of additional businesses such as: a bank, grocery store, restaurants, hair salon, gas station, hardware store, medical center, flower shop, library and sports field. Sydenham is also the location of the local High school. Harrowsmith, Sydenham and Verona all have a Public School and Harrowsmith also has a Catholic Elementary school. Most residents in the area work primarily in Kingston, which has all the usual amenities of a mid-size city. Kingston has a large number of public sector employment opportunities, as well as a good base of commercial and industrial work.
