Immanuel Church is a multi-generational church that exists to lead people to be passionate Jesus followers.
The Pastor of Care and Community (PCC) aims to provide adults of all stages of life with care and seeks to help them engage in community for the purpose of discipleship and personal wholeness. The PCC will also provide leadership and oversight of Community Groups and other Adult Ministries. Additionally, the PCC will work with the Lead Pastor in carrying out general pastoral duties with a particular focus in the areas of discipleship and pastoral care.
(50% Care, 50% Community Groups & Adult Ministries)
Engage in personal pastoral care for the congregation including: Providing counselling, pastoral prayer, encouragement, visitation (home, hospital, phone calls) performing weddings, and funerals. Develop and implement a strategy and plan for delivering appropriate care personally and through caring and compassionate volunteers
Cast a vision and develop a culture of care and compassion which can be practiced across all ages
Provide a follow-up process to ensure needs are being met and not missed
Coordinate care with external counselling partners as needed
Oversee and champion Immanuel’s Community Group Ministry by:
Finding, training and providing ongoing training to Community Group leaders
Facilitating Community Group based outreaches and activities
Help CG leaders to find and teach appropriate study materials
Help church attenders find a Community Group that will meet their needs
Work with and encourage Immanuel’s Adult Ministry leaders in accomplishing the mission and vision of Immanuel Church. These ministries include: Micr-groups, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, 50+, Hospitality Team, our Prayer Ministry & Visitation/Care Ministries.
Work with the Director of Leadership Development to identify, train and disciple Adult Ministry Leaders

CHARACTERISTICS AND EXPERIENCE
A heart for God demonstrated by an authentic, personal, reproducible walk with God evidenced in a balanced life, a hunger for the Scriptures, and prayer
A developed understanding of Biblical/Pastor Care
A passion for bringing hope and help to the hurting.
Highly relational (able to care for and build relationship with a diversity of people)
Eager to lead the lost to know Jesus
Experience in equipping and leading teams
Humble and teachable
Excellent work ethic with the ability to work both supervised and unsupervised.
Proactive not reactive
Sufficiently developed administrative skills to provide for planning, budget management, accountability, and communication
A Degree in Theology, Counselling or Psychology
Holding a certification with a registered professional organization preferred.
Members and Attenders of Immanuel Church feel cared for and included in community
Adults of all ages and stages of life/Christian living are being helped in their discipleship journey.

This is a part-time position. Hours and pay will be determined in discussion with the candidate, based on experience.
