The Ministry of Children and Family Development is currently looking for full and part time caregivers for children and youth. We have a number of opportunities available for anyone over the age of nineteen who wants to make an positive impact in the life of a child as well as develop their skill set. Foster carers provide temporary short-term care for children and youth who come from hard places and face a range of issues. They need support, guidance and positive adult role models. Fostering does not need to be a full time commitment. You can make a lasting impression by providing weekend or respite care. Respite caregivers typically provide care in their for a period of 24-48 hours every second weekend. Respite care can be an excellent way for a student to earn extra income while developing their skills. Individuals who apply to foster or provide respite care will receive compensation and ongoing MCFD funded training and support in their role.
We are currently recruiting caregivers for the Vancouver and Richmond region. At this time there is an urgent need for respite caregivers as well as care for children and youth with special needs.
