About Montreal Hosanna Evangelical Church
Montreal Hosanna Evangelical Church is a vibrant, mission-focused Christian community committed to loving God, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and participating in His mission in Montreal and beyond.
Our congregation is currently majority Korean, and we are grateful for the heritage and faithfulness that have shaped our church. At the same time, we believe God is leading us toward becoming an increasingly intercultural and intergenerational church where people from different cultural, linguistic, and generational backgrounds can worship, grow, serve, and participate in God’s mission together.
In one of Canada’s most diverse cities, we see a significant opportunity to reach English-speaking young adults, families, newcomers, second-generation Koreans, and people from many different backgrounds.
Position Overview
We are seeking an English Ministry (EM) Pastor to lead and develop the English Ministry while contributing to the wider life and mission of the church.
This is a building and leadership role for someone who can faithfully preach and teach Scripture, disciple people, develop leaders, provide pastoral care, and help shape the future of the EM.
The EM Pastor will work collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, church leadership, and ministry teams to cultivate a Christ-centred community where people grow in faith, discover their gifts, and participate actively in the life and mission of the church.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching, Discipleship & Pastoral Care
Preach and teach Scripture faithfully through worship services, Bible studies, small groups, and other ministry settings.
Provide pastoral care, prayer, spiritual guidance, and discipleship.
Help people grow toward spiritual maturity and active participation in the church.
2. Leadership & Ministry Development
Identify, mentor, and equip volunteer and emerging leaders.
Develop healthy and sustainable ministries for the English-speaking congregation, including young adults and families.
Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leadership in ministry planning and church-wide initiatives.
3. Mission & Church Community
Help reach and engage younger generations, newcomers, second-generation believers, and people from diverse backgrounds.
Encourage evangelism, hospitality, community engagement, and local and global mission.
Strengthen relationships across cultures, generations, and ministries as we grow together as one church.
Qualifications
A mature and growing follower of Jesus with humility, integrity, a clear pastoral calling, and a heart for people and the next generation.
Ability to preach, disciple, develop leaders, and build ministry with initiative and a collaborative spirit. Pastoral or church leadership experience and theological education are preferred.
A relational and adaptable leader who can honour the church’s Korean heritage while helping build an increasingly intercultural and intergenerational church.
The ability to preach, teach, and communicate effectively in English is sufficient for this position. Korean is an asset but not required. French or another language would also be an asset in Montreal’s diverse ministry context.
Denomination & Ordination
Montreal Hosanna Evangelical Church is part of the Korean Evangelical of America denomination.
Ordination is not required at the time of application. For a qualified candidate, the church is willing to support the English-track ordination process through the denomination.
Our Hope and Vision
We are looking for a pastor who loves Jesus and His Church, loves people, and is excited to build. Our hope is to develop a strong English Ministry while becoming one Christ-centred church where people across cultures and generations worship, grow, serve, and participate in God’s mission together.
