New Hope provides transitional housing and loving community to newcomer refugee families as they begin their new lives in Canada. In our Surrey location, ten newcomer families live alongside three Resident Assistant (RA) families. This model provides a home, friendship and belonging for refugee families with children as they adjust to life in Canada.
The RA position offers a rare and meaningful opportunity to engage in the rhythms of giving and receiving hospitality and cultivating cross-cultural friendships while experiencing mutual transformation. It also offers the privilege of walking alongside and witnessing people journey from places of instability towards safety, stability, community, and renewed hope for their lives.
This role is well-suited for a single, couple, small family, or roommates seeking a deeply rewarding experience in community living. This Resident Assistant family will also be compensated as the Evening and Weekend Manager. The Evening and Weekend Manager is responsible for daily lock-up and building walk through, as well as being a first responder on building or property issues arising when the Property Manager is not onsite.
