PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) is a non-denominational protestant church, located within a gated 55+ “active adult golf resort community”. The founders of our church sought to provide a true Bible teaching church in which members and visitors of all denominations would feel the comfort of being in the house of the Lord – a place of worship where the gospel is proclaimed. From the beginning, PebbleCreek Community Church has been a mission-minded church. Our mission outreach extends to local, state, national and international programs.
On Sundays our church converts one of the clubhouse ballrooms into a sanctuary. A Sunday school class is taught prior to the service and numerous Bible study classes are held throughout the week. The church averages 150 attendees during the months of October to June. However, our attendance drops to around 60 attendees during the summer months when the “snowbirds” return to cooler temperatures.
In October 2017, our Pastor of the past five years announced his plans to retire. We are seeking a full-time pastor to minister to the needs of our congregation as well as reach out to residents in our unique community. A significant portion of our pastor’s time is spent studying, teaching and preaching the Word. Additionally, the pastor works with our part-time staff of music director, secretary, treasurer and other volunteers, as well as elected church officials such as the Elder Board and Deacons.
Our ideal candidate would have: 1) A Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary; 2) Minimum of ten years recent experience pastoring a church with a senior congregation; 3) Must be in agreement with our Statement of Faith and Church By-Laws (these documents and other pertinent information is accessible on our church website at www.pebblecreekchurch.org); 4) Willingness to live in the PebbleCreek community, if possible; and 5) U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a background check.
We look forward to discussing the position in greater detail with selected candidates following the close of the job posting. Selected candidates will receive a more formal application form and a background check will be required for candidates selected for an interview. All respondents to this posting will be contacted by a member of the hiring panel regarding their status in the process. Salary for this position is negotiable.
