Pastor Wanted — Pemberton Community Church
Mennonite Brethren Congregation · Pemberton, BC (Sea to Sky Corridor)
Location: Pemberton, BC — 20 minutes north of Whistler | Salary: $70,000–$100,000
About Pemberton
Pemberton Community Church has an exciting opportunity for a pastor to join our welcoming congregation in the beautiful mountain community of Pemberton, BC!
We are looking for a pastor who loves Jesus, values relationships, and has a heart for shepherding a smaller congregation while engaging with the wider community. Nestled in BC’s Sea to Sky corridor, Pemberton is a growing village known for its stunning mountain setting, agricultural roots, and diverse community of long-time residents, young families, newcomers, and nearby Indigenous communities.
This is an opportunity to serve both within the church and beyond its walls. With many in the community having no religious affiliation, there is meaningful potential to build relationships, share the hope of the gospel, and connect with people who may have little experience with church. We see this as a calling that combines pastoral care with a heart for mission.
This could be a wonderful opportunity for an experienced pastor, who is looking for a meaningful place to serve, build community, and continue growing in faith alongside others.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has a genuine love for Jesus and a heart for people. They enjoy preaching and teaching Scripture, walking alongside others through the seasons of life, and helping people grow in their faith. They value a relational approach to ministry, appreciate the close connections of a smaller church, and are comfortable working collaboratively with church leaders and volunteers. We would welcome someone who brings life and ministry experience, a steady and thoughtful approach to leadership, and a desire to invest in both the church and the broader Pemberton community.
Role Summary
The pastor provides spiritual, relational, and practical leadership to Pemberton Community Church. They are responsible for weekly preaching, pastoral care, discipleship, prayer, volunteer development, and working with elders and church leaders to support the spiritual health and direction of the congregation.
As a smaller church, we value a pastor who can balance biblical teaching and shepherding with the practical aspects of church life. Our focus is on building meaningful relationships, nurturing faith, and serving our community rather than maintaining a large number of programs. Alignment with the Confession of Faith of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (CCMBC) is required.
