Synopsis of Role
Our identity at Philpott is that we exist to glorify God and are committed to celebrate him and his
church. We place high value on weekly worship through music and other creative outlets as a key part of
that commitment. The role of the Director of Worship Ministry is to provide leadership to the music and
worship ministry at Philpott Church, expressed primarily in our weekly Sunday gathering but also during
our Thursday afternoon service. They will serve as the primary worship leader and will seek to shepherd
those who volunteer in our worship ministry. The Director of Worship Ministry will be the direct
supervisor of any paid staff, volunteers, or interns involved in their ministry. They will work closely with
all staff members and be directly accountable to the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
● Lead and equip our current worship leaders and volunteers
● Lead worship on Sunday mornings when needed and, if available, Thursday afternoons
● Schedule worship team leaders and musicians
● Plan a Sunday morning worship set in cooperation with the Senior Pastor and other volunteers
● Ensure equipment, including instruments, are functioning properly and are maintained
● Equip those interested in volunteering for the worship ministry

● Passionate and gifted in leading congregational worship vocally and instrumentally
● Excellent servant leadership and interpersonal skills
● Highly relational team builder
● Effective verbal and written communication skills
● High degree of creativity and a heart for worship ministries
● Commitment to celebrating and fully including all those interested in worship, regardless of
race, gender, ability, or background, ensuring they are valued and supported as integral

Qualifications
● Prior experience in worship ministry, especially in a church setting
