Chaplain position available at Pinegrove Place, a residential care home in Richmond, BC. This contract position consists of 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
Chaplain is responsible for coordinating all spiritual care at Pinegrove Place. Duties include frequent visitation of our 76 residents including documentation and charting; planning and leading services; facilitating memorial events; collaborating with and contributing to the care team and leadership team, and leading the Ethics Committee. The role requires one to act as a community liaison, and be responsible for coordination of volunteers from various spiritual, religious, and cultural groups. The Chaplain provides education and facilitation to staff, clergy, and volunteers. The Chaplain is to provide comprehensive spiritual care and emotional support to residents, families, and health care staff in a manner that is appropriate to religious and cultural diversity.
Applicant must be a leader with strong organizational skills, exceptional communication skills, and be creative in pastoral care. A master’s level education preferred, with at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education required, and be consistently able to demonstrate CASC core competencies. Having musical ability (i.e. sing or play an instrument) is an asset.
