Port Moody Pacific Grace MB Church is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and experienced pastor to help shepherd and disciple our church family through biblical preaching, teaching, leadership development, evangelism, and missions.

We are a healthy, multi-generational evangelical church affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Conference, serving both Cantonese and English congregations with a vibrant Children and Family Ministry.

Our pastors, Church Board, ministry leaders, and volunteers serve together in a collaborative and supportive ministry environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to strengthen discipleship across both congregations, invest in the next generation, and help shape the future of our church.

About Our Church

Port Moody Pacific Grace MB Church (PMPGMBC) is a bilingual (Cantonese & English), multi-generational evangelical church affiliated with the Mennonite Brethren Conference of British Columbia. Located in the beautiful Tri-Cities area of Metro Vancouver, we are committed to glorifying God by making disciples, serving our neighbours, and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our church family includes over 300 regular attendees:

• Cantonese Congregation (200+)
• English Congregation (90 adults, youth, and children)
• An integrated Children’s Ministry serving both congregations

Who We’re Looking For

We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who demonstrates:

· A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.

· Minimum eight years of pastoral ministry experience.

· Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited seminary.

· Ordained or eligible for ordination.

· Agreement with the doctrine, values, and practices of the Mennonite Brethren Conference.

· Strong gifts in biblical preaching, teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.

· Demonstrated leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

· Fluency in Cantonese and English.

· Ability to minister effectively in a multicultural and multi-generational church.

· Preferred – Experience serving in a multi-pastor ministry environment.

· Preferred – Understanding of the ministry opportunities and challenges facing first- and second-generation Chinese Canadians.

· Preferred – North American pastoral ministry experience.

Key Responsibilities

The Full-Time Pastor (Cantonese & English Ministries) provides biblical leadership through preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, leadership development, and missions. Working alongside the pastoral team, Church Board, and ministry leaders, the pastor will help strengthen both our Cantonese and English congregations, equipping believers to become mature followers of Jesus Christ while fostering unity across cultures and generations.

Preaching & Teaching

· Preach and teach God’s Word in Cantonese and English worship services.

· Lead worship services and administer Communion and baptism.

· Teach Bible studies, discipleship classes, and leadership training.

Pastoral Care

· Provide pastoral visitation, prayer, encouragement, and spiritual support.

· Shepherd individuals and families through all stages of life.

· Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ministries as assigned.

Discipleship & Leadership

· Develop and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers.

· Strengthen discipleship, small groups, and spiritual formation ministries.

· Support young adults, adults and families in their spiritual growth.

· Collaborate with the pastoral team, Church Board, and ministry leaders to advance the church’s vision.

Missions & Community Outreach

· Promote evangelism, local outreach, and global missions.

· Support missionary partnerships and community ministries.

· Encourage the congregation to live out the Gospel in everyday life.

Personal & Ministry Leadership

· Model Christ-like character, servant leadership, and biblical integrity.

· Pursue ongoing spiritual, personal, and professional growth.

· Contribute to a healthy, collaborative pastoral team.
