Associate Pastor | Renfrew Baptist Church

Location: Renfrew Baptist Church, Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
Applicants: Full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.
Expected annual salary range for full-time position: $60,000 – $70,000.

How You Will Serve and Lead

You will come alongside our Senior Pastor as an Associate Pastor to serve, lead, and build up our local church. You will be the binding glue, exercising administrative oversight to promote the function and development of ministry efforts and community outreach initiatives. Your continued growth and the refinement of your gifts may lead you to transition into the Senior Pastor role or you may continue serving as an Associate Pastor who will help guide Renfrew Baptist Church in finding a new Senior Pastor in the future.

In your daily life, you will continually be committed to upholding the following Christian principles:
• A high view of Scripture including its inspiration, inerrancy, authority, perspicuity, and sufficiency.
• Dedication to corporate and daily personal prayer.
• The 5-Solas of the Reformation and the doctrines of grace.
• Expository preaching.
• Baptistic ecclesiology.
• Genesis-affirming young-earth creationist.
• Complementarian view of men and women in the church.

Upon joining our congregation, you will continually be committed to:
• Adhering to scriptural elder requirements (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4).
• Equipping the saints for the work of ministry for the upbuilding of the church (Ephesians 4:11-16).
• Fully upholding the Renfrew Baptist Church statement of faith and church member’s covenant.
• Preaching on a consistent basis (frequency TBD in consultation with Senior Pastor).
• Partnering with the leadership team in serving.
• Working alongside the rest of the Leadership Team to ensure the fiscal integrity of our local church.

You will serve and lead by being committed to:
• The principles delineated in Nine Marks of a Healthy Church.
• Supporting the church’s amillennial understanding of eschatology.
• Supporting the church’s understanding of Progressive Covenantalism.
• Providing pastoral care and guidance to the congregation and the community.
• Leading, nurturing, and building up church ministries.

Your Experience and Gifts

As an Associate Pastor, you possess the following qualifications:
• A mature disciple committed to Christ Jesus and a lifelong learner.
• Dedication to corporate and daily personal prayer.
• The ability to effectively, truthfully, and without reservation, preach the full Word of God.
• A servant leader, exemplifying humility in your relationships while leading others do the same.
• A heart and vision for discipling all nations, tribes, peoples, and languages.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree (or higher), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

You possess or are aspiring to grow in the following ministry gifts and skills:
• Excellent communication, both spoken and written.
• Excellent emotional intelligence and/or analytical skills.
• Church leadership, outreach, worship, and/or ministry experience.
• Adaptability and fortitude during seasons of change and instability.
• Willingness to study Biblical Languages.
