SENIOR PASTOR

RICHMOND Peace Chinese Mennonite Church (“RPCMC”)

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

The Senior Pastor is to oversee spiritual well being of the church through the ministry of prayer, preaching, teaching, care, and counselling for individual needs and to provide leadership for the Deacons’ Board and the congregation of RPCMC.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.      A call to pastoral ministry from God

2.      Excellent command of spoken and written English & Chinese (Cantonese)

3.      A master degree obtained from an accredited evangelical seminary

4.      A minimum of three years pastoral experience, preferably in North America

5.      Strong leadership and gift of preaching

MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Cast vision for RPCMC

2.      Provide leadership, oversee, and coordinate the activities and the administrative functions of the church

3.      Arrange preaching responsibilities at the pulpit

4.      Involve in teaching Sunday School and/or discipleship training

5.      Care for the congregation through visitation and counselling as necessary

6.      Participate and promote domestic and overseas missions

7.      Serve in baptism, funeral, wedding and other special services, as necessary
