Position Summary
The Worship and Youth Minister will obviously consist of two major emphases: 1) being the person responsible for leading the team serving the congregation with worship leading; 2) working with our youth (teens). This is a full-time position with expectations of a minimum of forty (40) hours work week, with full salary and benefits. The preferred candidate will have received academic training in Bible and ministry through a recognized Bible College, Seminary, University, or Discipleship Training program. Ministerial experience is preferred, but those for whom this would be their first ministry position will be considered. The highest priority for this position is a servant’s heart and the willingness to work toward the spiritual formation and discipleship of those served. The one filling the role should willingly contribute to the bringing of the presence of Our Trinitarian God into the world, so that the realities of the Kingdom of God are increasingly evident through the work of the church. Those serving in ministry need to display flexibility in their service, with loving the Lord and loving people sometimes taking the minister outside the framework of her/his typical job priorities.
Proportional Priorities
· Worship Ministry 45%
· Youth (Teen) Ministry 45%
· Additional ministerial responsibilities required of staff in order to further the work of the Kingdom through the Shelbourne Street Church (including staff and Elders meetings; deacons meetings if necessary) 10%
Salary and Benefits
Salary and full benefits will amount to remuneration of $60,000 annually to the right candidate. An RRSP will offered, as will extended insurance after a probationary period. Ministerial housing allowance (as part of the remuneration) is included in the position. Holidays will begin at two-weeks annually.
