This individual will work with the SouthRidge Children’s Ministry Director, and will be responsible to provide administrative support for general weekly operations, communication and special events.
This individual will report to and be accountable to the Children’s Director.
Key position responsibilities:
1. Sunday mornings
Oversee the administrative aspects of Sunday Morning in SRKids
· To schedule the volunteers for each week
· To coordinate the greeting of new families and child registration
· To oversee the tracking of Sunday morning attendance
· To organize curriculum distribution.
· To ensure teachers have needed supplies and organize and track current supplies and inventory
· To ensure that proper signage, classroom labelling, and nametags are in place
· To be able to teach when and as needed.
To provide administrative and communication support for all SRKids’ events that will include:
To organize and oversee the details of all events (i.e. Soccer Camp, Fall Carnival)
To communicate with parents, volunteers and other SouthRidge ministries involved with each event
To participate and assist at all SRKids events
3. Other administrative responsibilities
To be responsible for the promotion of SRKids and SRKids’ events
To oversee the Camp by Memory program
To develop newsletters, brochures, schedules
To assist the Children’s Director in implementing the Child Protection Policy
To oversee SR Kids record keeping
4. SouthRidge staff
The Children’s ministry assistant as part of the SouthRidge staff:
Will be expected to attend a staff meeting once a month as available
Will be required to attend monthly Family Ministry team meetings
Will be able to attend one professional development experience annually, to be approved by the Director of Children’s Ministry
Contribute to the broader fulfillment of the mission and vision of the church by working with other staff and ministry leaders
This individual will:
have a heart for God and a heart for children.
be knowledgeable of, understand, agree with, and live out the Vision, Mission and values of SouthRidge Fellowship
meet the character qualifications as outlined in the character profile
be proficient with relevant computer skills
have strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills and experience
Terms of employment:
This is a part-time position, working 16 hours weekly.
Weekly scheduled days may vary, but will include 4 hours on Sunday morning, with some possible flexibility for the remaining days, and occasional evenings.
The individual will be remunerated according to terms worked out by SouthRidge and agreed upon by the individual.
The individual will need to pass a criminal record check. If a prior criminal record is revealed, it may result in reconsideration of the application.
The individual will agree to and sign the SouthRidge Fellowship Employee Policy Manual, and other relevant policies.
The position will have a 90 day probationary period, during which either party may terminate employment. Prior to the end of this probationary period, a performance evaluation and discussion will take place.
Subsequent reviews will take place annually.
This relationship may be terminated by the individual with thirty (30) days written notice.
SouthRidge may dismiss the individual with thirty (30) days’ notice for failing to meet the character qualifications or failing to fulfill the job description.
