Position Title: Maintenance Assistant
Summary: The Maintenance Assistant helps to provide maintenance services that ensure the proper functioning, cleanliness, and safety of St.Andrew’s Hall.
Type of Position: Part-time with one year contract. 12 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping to provide light maintenance services, including general upkeep of the facilities and grounds of St. Andrew’s Hall, performing work such as changing light bulbs and smoke alarms, clearing clogged drains, vacuuming stairwells and hallways, checking grounds for litter, assisting with drywall repairs and painting, buffing floors, and other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
The Maintenance Assistant reports to the Facilities Manager.
Hours of Work and Remuneration:
This position involves 12 hours per week, 6 hours per day from 9 am to 2 pm. Extra hours may be added according to seasonal workload and/or urgent demand. The rate of pay will be $23/hour. Overtime will be paid for approved hours. This position receives contributions to CPP, EI, and WorkSafeBC insurance.
