Campus Pastor– St Moses Church, Baltimore
Overview
Saint Mo’s is a 7 year old multi-ethnic church plant in the heart of Baltimore City. We stand in the deep center-current of historic Christianity. Our current building is located in a neighborhood where people from multiple backgrounds converge. We enjoy a strong reputation among churches in Baltimore for collaboration, for generosity and for deep community, for vibrant worship and rigorous preaching.
We are looking for a full-time Campus Pastor (man or woman) to help launch and lead a new campus (see below). This person will be an ardent follower of Jesus with deep cultural intelligence, has a heart for people (serving and leading them) and the ability to envision and build new, healthy organizations in a team setting. This is a full time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
The new campus (St Moses Church, Hamilton) is being established in a cluster of neighborhoods (Hamilton and Lauraville) in northeast Baltimore city, MD. These neighborhoods are a meeting point for people from a range of socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. The area adjoins Morgan State University, one of the leading HBCUs in the nation and sits along one of the few major north-south arteries connecting the city and the county to the north.
We hope that the best bits of Saint Mo’s culture, as it currently exists, are transplanted into the new church. We want the new church to be welcoming and vibrant. We want it to reflect the diversity of the community. The music will be contemporary but connected to the great tradition of Christian worship. The theology will continue to stand in the deep center current of historic Christianity and will be evangelical in the historical sense of emphasizing the authority of the Bible, the centrality of the Cross of Christ, the importance of turning toward God for salvation and lives lived deliberately in the Way of Jesus. The proximity to a major university means that we will aim consistently to preach in a manner that is compelling for students and faculty. The proximity to physical needs means that we will aim consistently to serve the community with the resources we have available.
