Lead the music ministry on Sunday mornings through the organ/keyboard, piano and choir
Prepare and direct Choral work for Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter, outreach and special events
Select and play hymns, anthems, liturgy, prelude, postlude
Further develop the adult choir and possible future child/youth choirs
Together with the Priest create a purposeful worship atmosphere giving glory to God in Christ through music
The Rev. Ken Bell, Peoples’ Warden, Rector’s Warden, and choir. There will be a probationary review after three months and an annual review thereafter with the Senior Priest and Wardens after consultation with the choir.
BACKGROUND AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
BMus degree with Church Music and Worship Specialty or demonstrated equivalent proficiency
Experience with Anglican liturgy necessary

The successful candidate will be a Christian with a love for Christ and a passion for the place of music in church worship. S/he will develop a culture of worship at St. Timothy’s where people are drawn to know and follow Jesus through worship. S/he will maintain a fresh relationship with God through appropriate spiritual disciplines, joyfully responding to God’s call, and a faithful servant leader after God’s own heart.
The Director of Music Ministry will be in sympathy with and able to adhere to, the statements of faith of St Timothy’s as expressed in its constitution, bylaws and policy statements.
It is expected that after three months the successful candidate will become a member of the Church and sign the membership Covenant.
The successful candidate will have a committed Christian faith, and will be a strong, innovative, and organized leader, with strong communications skills able to function in a constantly changing operating environment.
Remains current with developments in Church Music
Remains current with technology to assist in worship and with musical instruments
St Timothy’s will expect this person will work primarily from home, and in addition have access to the library, office, and instruments as needed.
Part-time, approximately 10 hours per week, Thursday night choir practice and 9:00 am Sunday worship, (Choir warm up at 8:15)
