Site Pastor – UBC Pt. Grey Full Time

We are looking for a Christ-centered, dynamic leader to join our team in the UBC Point Grey neighborhood of Vancouver.

You will report directly to the Senior Associate Pastor and collaborate with our team of Site Pastors, Leadership Team, and support staff.

The Site Pastor will build connections in the UBC Point Grey community, understanding the needs of people who live in the area and leading the church to connect in meaningful ways.

YOUR ROLE:

Site Pastor (90%):

• Serve as the ‘resident’ pastor to those who are part of the UBC Point Grey community.
• Act as the catalyst and vision bearer to ensure the health and holistic growth of the site.
• Cultivate relationships within the neighbourhood – other organizations, and with those exploring faith.
• Preach two times a month at the UBC Point Grey service; occasionally at other sites.
• Foster an atmosphere that enhances authentic worship, promotes spiritual formation, emotional health, and justice for all.
• Integrate and evaluate standards of quality and integrity for ministries as well as assessing that the site’s DNA and character are in line with Tenth’s mission and values.
• Create effective systems to connect people to one another and God through Sunday services, life groups, ministries, events, etc.
• Effectively facilitate the lateral communication between members of the Leadership Team and the site staff.
• Engage, equip, empower, and manage staff and volunteer leaders.
• Ensure a leadership pathway is developed to meet the current and future needs of the site.
• Serve as the point person to link the UBC Point Grey community with the broader Tenth community.
• Oversee the planning and oversight of the annual budget at the site level.

Leadership Team (10%):

• Collaborate with the Leadership Team to help develop Tenth wide strategic planning and initiatives.
• Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives at the UBC Point Grey site.
• Provide peer-to-peer support to leadership team.
• Serve as the role model for spiritual practices, self-care, ongoing leadership development, and discipleship growth.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Bachelor’s degree; Masters preferred, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership, developing emerging leaders, spiritual formation, and outreach.
• An authentic, growing faith in Christ and spiritual maturity.
• The loving character and capacity to offer pastoral care and to mobilize others for pastoral care ministry.
• The ability to engage in effective conflict resolution.
• Relational heart and a love for being with people.
• Connects well and has relationships with people who do not yet know Christ or have little to no experience with the church.

This is a full-time position that works 40 hours per week. Salary is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000 per annum. Benefits and perks include generous vacation policy, sick time, group health care benefits, RRSP matching program, and professional development and financial support towards spiritual direction.
