Position Summary:
The Tapestry Church is a church consisting of four campuses, located in Richmond, Vancouver and Coquitlam, BC. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church centered in Christ.
The Director of Operations is responsible for the operational and administrative aspects of the church. He or she will lead human resources, finance, recruitment, and all functional activities to ensure alignment with and accomplishment of the church’s mission and vision.
Primary Areas of Responsibility:
The following responsibilities and expectations are representative of part-time employment at 20 hours per week.
The Director of Operations will be responsible for the development and management of both pastoral and non-pastoral church staff. This includes:
· Training and leadership development for staff
· Salary administration, benefits, and vacation scheduling
· Preparation of job descriptions, interview process, and hiring
2. The Director of Operations will lead and guide the central services team that supports the Tapestry Network. This includes supervision of all staff involved in HR, finance, and media (such as the website, stream).
3. The Director of Operations will design, produce, and update various operational policies such as:
· HR Handbook for staff
· Facility rentals
4. The Director of Operations will manage the budget creation and approval process, ensure accountable payments, and management of expenses against budget. Duties and monthly responsibilities include:
· Accounting Cycle (profit and loss, bank statement, bank reconciliation)
· Monitor donation entries and expenses.
· Preparation of monthly financial statements for Elder Board and Campus Leadership Teams
· Payroll
· Year End donation receipts
· Annual budget preparation
· Insurance Policy Renewals
5. The Director of Operations will participate in the life and ministry of the Tapestry Church.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a combination of education and experience that demonstrates that they have a heart for the church and the mission of God. They will be a self-starter and have the ability to facilitate groups, lead and equip God’s people to serve his mission in the church and the world.
The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field with accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment. They must have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. We are looking for a person with strong administrative giftings who is strong at implementation to complement our staff team.

Salary Range
$20,000 to $30,000 annually (0.5 FTE), plus benefits.
