Associate Pastor (Tap Nights) Full Time

ABOUT US:

Tapestry Nights is a 7 year-old church plant that is part of the Tapestry Network of churches. We worship weekly on Saturday Nights at 9280 No. 2 Road in Richmond, BC., with about 150 congregants participating. We exist to make disciples of Jesus who make disciples.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an organized, community-minded person who can provide and grow in their pastoral leadership and oversight to the various ministries in our congregation. Working alongside our campus pastor, staff and leadership team, the successful applicant will champion ministries and initiatives that help build our capacity to “make disciples who make disciples.”

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The following responsibilities and expectations are representative of half-time employment at 20 hours per week. In consultation with the campus pastor the candidate can choose to focus on some of the following areas and ministries:

LEADERSHIP

Cultivate the culture, and execute the mission of Tap Nights as part of the Leadership Team.
Collaborate closely with the Tap Nights staff and leaders.
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Equip and empower existing leaders, and identify new leaders.

FORMATION

Provide pastoral care and oversight for various ministry groups, such as:
Kids, Youth, and Youth Adults.
Adult Discipleship (Men and Women ministries, Small Groups, Trios).
Coordinate community life events such as church-wide meals, team trainings and celebrations, annual retreat.
Offer wise and effective pastoral Care for congregants as needs arise.
Equip and empower the congregation’s life of prayer through prayer ministry and gatherings.

MISSION

Help strengthen our missional muscles by equipping and empowering our church through: Alpha Course, evangelism workshops, teaching on missional habits, education around poverty and justice.
Get to know and grow to better love our local context of Richmond.
Help coordinate local outreach initiatives.
Connect and collaborate with global outreach partners.
Engage in and equip church congregants in the practice of hospitality.
Preach the gospel as part of our weekly worship services and through their pastoral presence in the city.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will bring a blend of education and experience that reflects a deep love for the church and the mission of God. This is a robust pastoral role, suited for someone devoted to the care of souls. We’re seeking a self-starter—someone who can take initiative and follow through faithfully on what’s entrusted to them. The ideal candidate will embrace our community and context, entering in with openness and presence. We’re also looking for someone eager to experiment in ministry—approaching new ideas with curiosity, a learning posture, and tenacity.

COMPENSATION:

$25,000 to $30,000 annually plus benefits.

NOTE: compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
