Reporting to the Manager, Women & Families Outreach, this position has a split responsibility in two areas within the Children and Youth programming: Children’s Outreach and Camp Partnership. This individual is responsible for assisting the Youth & Camp Outreach Worker in providing a strong administration skill set for completion of UGM and camp applications for local summer camps. This individual also assists the other Children & Youth Outreach Workers with planning and implementing various children’s outreach programs and seasonal events (i.e.Spring into Summer Retreat, Summer Day Camps, and Christmas Hampers). As a spiritual leader, this individual will be a role model and mentor to the children and provide support to the families, and strive to enhance client care and services that are consistent with UGM’s core values.
At times you will come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be Outreach Workers and other Programs staff nearby to assist as required.

We are looking for a Christian individual who is passionate about providing exciting and educational after-school care for children, as well as supporting families by being directly involved in administrative assistance for local summer camp registration. Two-three years of experience with elementary-aged kids and youth in a recreational and/or educational setting is required. To be successful in this role, the candidate will have the proven ability to effectively deal with challenging behaviours and implement classroom management, as well as experience working in a multi-ethic and socially diverse context. Cantonese and/or Mandarin fluency would be an asset, alongside experience with Aboriginal clients. Strong administrative skills with a high degree of attention to detail is essential; database experience is an asset. A valid class 5 driver’s license is also required, with the ability and willingness to obtain a class 4 license.
This position will have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults or children. Therefore, the successful candidate must provide a current criminal record check that includes a vulnerable sector search as a condition of employment.
This position requires the incumbent to drive a UGM vehicle. Therefore, the successful candidate must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and submit a current driver’s abstract.
