JOB DESCRIPTION: Associate Campus Minister – Women’s Ministry UBC
The associate campus minister will support the director in establishing a missional and discipling community on the university campus; provide pastoral care to students; encourage growth and maturity in discipleship to Jesus; participate in effective outreach and service to the campus; contribute to community building events; and develop new initiatives as needed.
The balance and breakdown of the following activities may vary depending upon the needs of the particularmakeup of the UBC team you serve with, and the candidate’s individual giftings and passions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Discipleship
• Individual discipleship of women student leaders
• Leadership team teaching and training
• Preaching at fellowship gatherings
• Pastoral care for student leadership team
• Assist in preparing curriculum for semester-long Bible studies and leadership training
Outreach
• Help facilitate team initiatives: speakers, community events, mission trips
• Creative outreach to the larger UBC community
Administration
• Communication with ministry members and the public: emails, phone calls, social media
• Coordinate regular and occasional events
• Keep track of financial contributions, expense reports, and working hours
Personal and Staff Development
• Actively participate in staff meeting, staff prayer, and staff retreats
• Academic development towards becoming a credential-holder of the PAOC, and onwards once completed
• Seeking and utilizing personal spiritual mentorship (ideally within UCM)
• Continuing to pursue personal relationship with Christ
Fundraising
• Build a team of donors through individuals and churches (training and coaching provided)
• Be available to spiritually minister to support team
• Raise adequate funds to provide personal support and ministry needs
• Write newsletters to supports to cast vision, share updates, and make prayer requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidate would have:
• A vibrant, authentic, and growing faith in Christ
• Bachelors degree (secular or theological)
• Ministry experience (paid or volunteer)
• Passion for campus ministry
COMPENSATION:
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: As a campus missionary, your salary would be raised through personal fundraising. UCM provides fundraising training and has a track record of long-term success for its employees’ funding. An approved budget (like a teacher’s salary grid) will be determined annually. Currently a fund is being developed for this position and supplemental salary support will be provided during the fundraising period.
