Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church is a vibrant multi-generational, multi-cultural church, serving the English, Cantonese, and Mandarin speakers in metropolitan Vancouver. We are a community of believers who strive towards being “United in Christ for the Mission of God.”

This is a full time position.
Areas of Responsibilities:
The primary role of this position is to provide spiritual leadership to children from newborns to grade 6 while coordinating and organizing bible-based programs throughout the year. The person must be able to visualize and articulate a theme or goal and implement it into the different existing programs. Some programs occur on a weekly bases (i.e., AWANA, Sunday School, and Children Worship) whereas others are seasonal (i.e., Funfest, Easter Egg Hunt, DayKnight Camp, etc).
The position also requires one to be able to recruit, equip, and lead a network of leaders who serve in Children and Family Ministries. Our volunteer leaders range from teenagers to seniors. The person will be required to maintain a healthy communication with the children and their families and collaborate with all pastors to ensure that the spiritual needs of the families are met.
The candidate must meet the moral qualifications outlined in Scripture and be in agreement with the doctrinal beliefs of VCAC. The person must be willing to protect the unity of the church and be a part of the pastoral team. The willingness to learn and an attitude to seek personal, professional, and spiritual growth are expected. A criminal record check is required.
The successful candidate should be spiritually mature, have a sound understanding of the Bible and be able to teach God’s Word in an engaging and personal way. The goal is to help children have a better understanding of God so that they can be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Strong administrative, communicative, and leadership skills are assets.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Theological Education, Christian Ministries, Children’s Education, and/or Christian Studies is preferred. Several years of experience in developing children programs, leading a ministry team, and organizing annual schedules. The ability to understand Cantonese and Mandarin would be an asset.
